What is 2-part wood bleach?
Two-part wood bleach is a bleaching system consisting of two separate components that are typically mixed together before application. These components often include a wood bleach activator (usually sodium hydroxide) and a wood bleach solution (usually hydrogen peroxide). When combined, these parts create a powerful chemical reaction that effectively lightens or removes stains from wood surfaces, providing a uniform and refreshed appearance.
How does 2-part wood bleach work?
- Removes natural colour from wood
- Also removes dark stain caused by water, rust, alkalis and some dye colour
- Always sold in two separate containers – A & B
- Can release toxic fumes when mixed
- Precautions: wear gloves, eye protection, and a respirator and work in a well-ventilated area
