It’s official. This wood grain is one of my absolute favourites 😍. I picked this up from Facebook Marketplace about a month ago after Second Act Design sent me the listing. It’s a Princeville and it’s GORGEOUS 🤩.

How I refinished this piece:

  1. 🪛 Removed the base and legs
  2. 🏝️ Removed original finish using my Dewalt random orbit sander starting with 100 grit on medium speed for the flat surfaces; smoothed with 150 grit
  3. 🏖️ My Surfprep 3×4 sander with its foam pads was perfect for those curved handles
  4. 📌 Removed the dust from the wood surfaces with a tack cloth
  5. 🧼 Cleaned the rest with Rustoleum’s Krud Kutter; rinsed any remaining residue with a new rag and clean water
  6. 📼 Outlined the paint accent using Elite washi tape
  7. ☕️ Chose Country Chic Paint’s Dark Roast for the accent colour
  8. 📐 To apply, used Zibra precision cut-in brush
  9. 2️⃣ Applied 2 coats overall
  10. 🍯 Using a fleece applicator for the flat surfaces and a brush for the edges, applied Osmo Polyx-Oil Tints in Honey
  11. 💨 Let dry for 24 hours
  12. 🏝️ Between all coats, lightly sanded with a 400 grit foam pad and removed the dust with a tack cloth
  13. 🆑 Applied Osmo Polyx-Oil Clear x2 using a flat brush and microfibre roller
  14. 💨 Let dry overnight (but only 8-10 hours required)
  15. 🤚🏼 Buffed in the 4th (and final coat) using an Osmo Superpad
  16. 👴🏻 Finished the surfaces with Grandpa Ernie’s method; let me know if you need a further explanation 😉
  17. 🪛 Reinstalled the base
  18. 🎨 Touched up a couple of spots using Coconix Furniture Repair Paint
