This is the second piece of a set I did for a friend! Her father-in-law made these cherry 🍒 nightstands and she wanted a lighter more modern version. My plan was to use a tan paint wash and it did not disappoint.

- Country Chic Paint 2″ oval brush

How I refinished this piece:

Step by step intructions:
- 💃🏽 Sprayed Stripwell’s QCS Finish Remover, waited 15 minutes, sprayed again and then used a putty knife to remove
- 🏝️ Sanded flat surfaces with my Dewalt random orbit sander using 100 grit and smoothed with 150
- 🏖️ Used my Surfprep 3×4 electric ray sander to remove the finish from the edges; I started with a 100 grit film and then smoothed with a medium 5mm profoam pad and then a fine 5mm profoam pad; also did some hand sanding for the hard to reach areas and did some hand sanding
- 🎨 💦 With Country Chic Paint’s Sunday Tea, made a paint wash that was 1 part paint, 3 parts water
- 🖌️ Applied liberally in all directions with Country Chic Paint’s 2” oval brush and removed excess with shop towel
- 🦭 Applied Zinsser Sealcoat – a dewaxed shellac that helps the surface not turn pink when the water based topcoat is applied; I tested this on the headboard and there wasn’t a difference when it was applied first
- 🦭 Sealed everything with General Finishes High-Performance Topcoat in Satin
- 👴🏻 Finished drawers with Grandpa Ernie’s method; let me know if you need a further explanation 😉
