I could absolutely see the potential that this laminate dresser had – I mean, look at those pulls! While I could tell it was laminate, I knew I could do a great paint/wood combination.

Materials:
- Primer: Zinsser BIN shellac
- Paint colour (for bridge area): Country Chic Paint – Sunday Tea
- Topcoat: Country Chic Paint Clear Coat
- Wood glue: Gorilla wood glue
Tools used:
- Dewalt impact driver
- Dewalt cordless vacuum
- Dewalt 5″ random orbit sander, variable speed
- Painter’s Tape green
- Country Chic Paint short handle brush
- Staalmeester 10cm microfibre roller
- Tack cloth
- Automotive sponge
- Safety gear- respirator, ear protection, anti-vibration gloves
How I refinished this piece:
🦵🏼 Removed the legs, pulls and broken drawer guides
🏝️ Sanded with my Dewalt random orbit sander using 100 grit and smoothed with 150
🧼 Cleaned frame with Krud Kutter Gloss-Off
⚪️ Applied Zinsser’s BIN shellac with foam roller/ chip brush combination (2 coats; lightly sanding between and wiping with damp cloth)
🎨 Painted frame with Country Chic Paint’s Sunday Tea (a warm greige) using a CCP short handle brush and Staalmeester microfibre roller (2 coats; lightly sanding between and wiping with damp cloth)
🦭 To seal the paint and provide protection to the wood areas, used Country Chic Paint’s Clear Coat (3 coats always required for topcoat; lightly sanding between and wiping with damp cloth)
✨ Reinstalled the pulls and installed new drawer guides
I love a good opportunity to paint and this one definitely turned out better than I imagined! Thank you so much, Country Chic Paint, for the products that went into making this beauty perfect for my friend’s home 🥰
