It’s so hard to find a really nice set of mid century modern nightstands. I came across these on a Facebook buy & sell group and immediately saw the potential!

Materials:
- Annie Sloan chalk paint (Athenian Black)
- Annie Sloan clear wax
- Fusion Mineral Paint’s Hemp Oil
How I refinished this piece:
I started by removing the drawers and using my Dewalt 5″ orbital sander, sanded the fronts to bare wood. I also sanded down the legs and top.

Next, comes preparing the frames for paint. I wash down and then tape to prevent the paint from getting on the top. I also love the clean lines that the tape gives. Gives it a more finished feeling.
Two coats of paint were needed and then, once dried, a clear coat of wax was applied.
One coat of Fusion Mineral Paint’s Hemp Oil was applied to enhance the natural colour of the wood. Look at how much more apparent the wood grain is!
Striking contrasting black and wood grain make it interesting!
