A free mid century modern dresser on Facebook marketplace is a rare find – like a diamond in the rough! I message the person who posted it using a lot of exclamation points, tell them I can come that very instant, cross my fingers and pray that they pick my message to reply to.

I liked this dresser because I knew it had good bones even from the picture. When I picked it up, I saw the dovetail joints. Talk about amazing. A light coloured base always helps because there is definitely less priming involved. Covering a lighter colour is always much easier than a darker one. I didn’t use the original hardware because I couldn’t be bothered to strip it and paint it. I also knew that I wanted the hardware on all four drawers to match.
I didn’t take any progress pictures for this one – surprising, I know! I’m known as a shutterbug. Enjoy the finished product!
